Investigation
Western Australia Police Inspector Mark Tobiassen said the alarm was inflated when the microlight plane failed to return to Exmouth aerodrome at 4.30 pm.
Moreover, Inspector said police initiated a search of the area and located the plane from the air at about 6.30 pm. The Police ran to the location of the plane crashed and confirmed the death of both pilot and passenger had died.
Inspector Tobiassen said, “We secured that scene and stayed with them through the night and then this morning with the help of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the State Emergency Service we recovered both deceased persons,”
However, police and investigators still don’t know the cause of the plane crash, and a full coronial investigation would be undertaken.
